Job Title: Admissions Panel Tutor

Responsible to: Chief Executive

Job Type: Part Time (Temporary) and remote

Salary: £15 - £20 p/h, depending on experience

Most recently, the college has expanded in the North, having established satellite campuses in Birmingham, Dudley, and Oldham. Brit College is an award-winning provider. It has several academic accreditations and has taught undergraduate and master’s degree. The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic Human Resources and Admin Officer to join our supportive team.

Urgently the College is seeking to recruit qualified teachers who is able to conduct student’s interviews remotely/online.

The post-holder will be able to assess suitability of candidates who have applied to join DET Course or HND Courses accredited by City and Guilds and Pearson respectively.

This pots will be a full-time and for 2-3 weeks.

Purpose of the job:

Your responsibility as a panel tutor, you will be to give your judgement on candidate and their applications.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

As an admissions panel tutor, the main duties include;

· Pausing relevant questions to applicants on the basis of admissions criteria

· Making a decision about the applicants suitability

· Working with admissions team members

· Offering feedback

Qualifications

· An appropriate academic, or professional, qualification at undergraduate, or equivalent or

· A recognised teaching qualification (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) or PGCert) or

· A recognised assessors and /or internal verifier’s award

Knowledge and experience

· Experience of teaching

· Understanding of admissions criteria, student experience and admissions process

· Previous experience of working in a similar role in a College or Local Authority environment would be advantageous

· Strong communication skills (both written and oral)

· Ability to work confidently with a range of people, both within the College and externally

· Ability to critically analyse and make independent judgements based on applicants’ documents and interview

· Experience of working in a busy and demanding customer focused environment

· Flexible in working hours – to accommodate occasional evening and weekend working

· An understanding of information legislation, such as the Data Protection Act.

Salary: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
