Advocate Job at Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center
ROLE: The primary role of Advocate II is to provide advocacy, outreach and education as assigned.
EXPECTATIONS: Advocate II will work collaboratively with coworkers. The advocate will be prompt for scheduled activities and represent WASAC in a professional manner. All survivors' information will be held to the highest standard of confidentiality. All staff are expected to demonstrate and perform WASAC Core Values.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities for the Advocate II are:
Advocacy
· Provide victim advocacy and services, information about victims’ rights and compensation to survivors and their families as needed
· Provide all advocacy core services for survivors and families within the framework of vertical advocacy
· Provide courteous and professional interactions with community partners
· Stay current in knowledge of community resources
· Cover hotline as staff back up as needed
Outreach
· Complete general outreach assignments as directed
· Provide outreach to Law enforcement and city courts in Sedgwick County
Education
· Be proficient in each educational program provided by WASAC
Agency duties
· Attend staff meetings and staff retreats
· All staff are required to submit timesheets and reports when due
· Enter all statistics and survey information required for grant monitoring and reporting
· Other duties as assigned by the Advocacy Coordinator I or Director of Advocacy
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.50 per hour
