ReStore Manager Job Description

SUMMARY: The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a division of Amarillo Habitat for Humanity. The ReStore mission is to generate revenue through the sale of donated building materials and household items to support AMAHFH’s operating budget. The ReStore Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Store’s day-to-day operations, maintaining a well-organized, and clean store all with a customer-friendly environment.

Operations

  • Hold chief administrative responsibility for the ReStore. Maintain efficient and effective daily operations of the ReStore.
  • Promote donations, drive sales and profits of the ReStore to provide sustainable funding to support Amarillo Habitat for Humanity.
  • Maintain proper records. Manage daily cash transactions, deposits, and reports.
  • Ensure the store is well-organized, clean, and shoppable.
  • Ensure quality customer service is provided and grievances are professionally handled.

Staff & Volunteer Management

  • Hire, train and manage ReStore staff and volunteers in accordance with AMAFH Personnel Policies and enforce ReStore Policies.
  • Ensure the store is adequately staffed with employees and volunteers.
  • Facilitate a positive, team-oriented environment in which all staff and volunteers are given the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
  • Evaluate staff performance in accordance with job descriptions and performance evaluation procedures, and address misconduct as arises.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of sales and retail with a minimum of two years in retail management.
  • Excellent customer service with tact and diplomacy.
  • Self-Motivated with effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to accept and follow instructions.
  • Ability to provide direction in a positive and affirming manner.
  • Ability to supervise staff and volunteers.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and unexpected shifts in priorities.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and be on your feet the majority of the day.

Employment Status: Full-Time salaried position at 40 hours + per week, including Saturdays.

Salary: Competitive pay and benefits package. Compensation is dependent on experience.

Pay: $36,053.49 - $60,000.00 per year
