The Service Collaborative (TSC) VISTA Program mobilizes AmeriCorps VISTA members to function in organizations, government agencies and educational institutions. Members focus on expanding educational opportunities, ensuring economic opportunity for all and creating healthy futures for the residents of low-income communities. Our goals are to strengthen communities across the state and to allow organizations within them to better provide services to impoverished individuals and families. The Service Collaborative VISTA program has partner organizations in New York State and across the country. During their term of service members, will receive support from our VISTA team at The Service Collaborative of WNY. Our support includes monthly trainings, a social network of fellow members and daily support from VISTA Leaders.

Member Duties: The City of Phoenix Housing Department serves primarily low-income communities through the development and continued support of affordable housing. The ConnectHome Digital Equity VISTA’s service will impact the lives of affordable housing residents across Phoenix while collaborating on a ConnectHome Initiative from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, to narrow the digital divide for families who live in HUD-Assisted Housing. The VISTA will develop programming to increase the number of seniors & affordable housing residents who attend cyber security & digital literacy classes, and coordinate with community partners to provide virtual health-related programs to residents as part of the PHX Housing Connect Program. Additionally, the VISTA will work with trainers to ensure participation in digital literacy programs and will assist in the outreach and coordination of a telehealth pilot program for seniors at Aeroterra Senior Village.
