Analyst Programmer II



Full-time, Regular, Exempt Position


The University of Maine System is seeking to hire an Analyst Programmer II. This position provides advanced technical, analytical and programming support for University of Maine System enterprise applications. These applications support the common needs of the System, the campuses, sites and centers and focus on the University System Student Administration applications but may include other platforms upon which UMS services are delivered. The ideal candidate will be experienced with Campus Solutions student administration. Preferred skills include the following Oracle PeopleSoft development technologies: Application Designer, SQR, PeopleCode, Fluid programming, BI Publisher, application packages, component interfaces and Integration Broker. Experience in SQL, JavaScript, web services and higher education a plus. The successful candidate will work well independently and as part of a team to identify and develop solutions to reported issues.


The work location is flexible and can sit at any one of the seven campuses of the University of Maine System, with the possibility of working remotely.


Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the annual salary range is in the mid $60s plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. The CS applications development team is responsible for the upgrade and maintenance of the student information system and for development of custom applications, integrations, and ETL processes for the University of Maine System. Our primary duty is to create, update, and maintain functional software that meets the needs of the UMS community.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Two years of experience as an Analyst Programmer or equivalent programming/analysis position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and relevant technical training and experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Campus Solutions Enterprise Applications
  • Experience with various PeopleSoft-related skills such as Oracle Database, SQL, PeopleCode, SQR, Application Engine, Query, or Application Messaging.
  • Skilled in writing efficient SQL queries against Oracle and other databases. Familiar with using PL/SQL in an Oracle database.
  • Experience with Java, javascript, HTML.
  • Experience with information security standards and technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise applications supporting multiple locations and Experience with relational database technology and programming languages
  • Prior experience in higher education.
