The Position: We are looking for an Arc Shop Observer to ensure all samples from the Melt Shop and Caster are prepared, analyzed and recorded in the appropriate manner.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze all samples from the Melt Shop and Caster and enter results in computers.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks of testing equipment.
• Give disposition on heats based on analyses and other variables.
• Report quality problems to area supervision and participates in corrective action.
• Must be accurate when recording all pertinent data.
• Maintain detailed inspection and communication logs in computer databases and on paper.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must be familiar with computers and have some knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, and email
• Mechanical aptitude required
• Technical background or laboratory experience preferred
• Experience with chemistry or quality control preferred
• Assertive and goal oriented, self-starter with positive attitude
• Auditing experience a plus

PAY RANGE STARTING AT: $43,498
