AREA LEISURE SALES MANAGER

Position Summary
The Area Sales Manager will be instrumental in developing and managing the leisure and group
market segments to achieve monthly room night and revenue goals for each of our premier,
independent boutique hotels, The Seagate Resort in Delray Beach, Florida and The Lake House
Hotel in Canandaigua, New York by effectively cross selling each property. Working closely with
the Area Director of Sales & Marketing and the Sales Leaders at the property level, this individual
will be a highly motivated hospitality sales professional who enjoys a fast-paced environment and
is passionate about interacting with clients, guests, and associates to strategically elevate the
performance and reputation of both assets.
Responsibilities

  • Fully develop and manage Consortia and LNR travel markets and achieve room night and

revenue goals for each segment with emphasis on higher rated, less price sensitive
business.

  • Gains understanding of each location’s primary target customer and service expectations.
  • Maintain weekly telephone and outside solicitation and travel agency presentations goals.
  • Develops new accounts and maintain growth of existing accounts.
  • Responsible for maintaining relationships with Preferred Hotels & Resorts Global Sales

Leaders to foster lead generation for each property.

  • Responsible for completing and implementing all RFPs.
  • Local/Regional accounts: responsible for total account management, which includes

ensuring local contracts are in place, account management and servicing the needs of local
contacts by working closely with the operations teams in each hotel.

  • Participate in weekly strategy meetings for each hotel and working closely with the Revenue

Management teams at the property level.

  • Ability to navigate the competitive landscape and implement strategies in each market.
  • Analyze monthly data by property to create strategic plans to increase revenue.
  • Consistently meets with and entertains customers, conducts property tours, participates in

tradeshows and industry and community events to promote facilities and services for each
hotel.

  • Develop accounts (new and existing) by mapping specific business and buying tendencies.

Include group profile for each meeting; maintain organized and professional plan for
correspondence and follow up.

  • Perform daily solicitations to new and existing accounts/customers
  • Promote awareness to corporate, incentive and association markets via travel to respective

regions in the country providing presentations and personal sales calls.

  • Conduct tours of property to meeting planners and other potential customers while informing

of all hotel/resort services available; entertain customers on property, during site
inspections, pre-planning trips, and program operation when appropriate.
Qualifications

  • Must have at least 3-5 years of experience and successful track record in hotel sales

(Leisure and BT experience preferred).

  • Hospitality degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical and researching skills to identify prospective customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and re-prioritize when necessary.
  • Must have experience in 'cold call' and proactive solicitation, site inspections/visits with

clients, and contract negotiations.

  • Strong customer service and rapport building skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively (40% - 50%)
