Position Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Area Vice President of Operations, the Area People Director (APD) is responsible for managing key aspects of Human Resources, including but not limited to the retention & engagement invitations, employee relations matters, associate development & training, & all HR policies and procedures compliance.

Development and rollout of strategic recruiting initiatives such as relocation programs, transportation programs and Visa programs. The Area People Director will also act as an agent of change and ambassador for TSC’s culture, engagement & training initiatives. This position works collaboratively with Area Recruitment Managers, the VP of Culture & Learning, Area People Directors, and all levels of the Operations team. The ideal candidate will be strategic, service oriented, highly engaged, driven by metrics, and tenacious.

Essential Duties:

  • Work with the regional operations team and with property-specific leadership to ensure high employee engagement and succession planning.
  • Assess human resource management training needs of the region. Organize and present training sessions to operations leadership
  • Act as point of escalation when employee relations issues arise, advise Operations on proper reporting and documentation
  • Perform investigations and resolve escalated associate relations disputes. Make decisions regarding senior management terminations as needed
  • Identify patterns with frequent associate relations disputes and partner with the operations team to implement sustainable solutions and make recommendations corporate management for best practices
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of senior management positions
  • Manage progressive discipline procedure for station managers and drivers, ensuring write ups are completed in a timely fashion and each issue is documented in employee files
  • Ensure human resource compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Work with the corporate legal team as needed to mitigate human resource related risks throughout the region
  • Partner with regional team on management of operations, training, succession planning
  • May lead or participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned
  • Conducts new hire orientation and safety training for new employees at opening.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 7+ years proven human resources experience in Gaming, Hospitality or other high-volume industry required
  • Strong business acumen
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR staff members through coaching skills
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant on the executive management team
  • Ability to handle employee relationship management, provide strong consultative skills
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity, tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to travel up to 30% annually
  • Bilingual highly preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $51,355.67 - $178,421.31 per year
