Summary:

Performs basic and repetitive routine electromechanical assembly tasks to support manufacturing operation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety (QEH&S) policy and strategic direction of the organization.
  • Perform sub and final assemblies with minimal supervision
  • Works either on a production line or with small parts by inspecting and sorting
  • Perform to written job instructions or engineering drawing/work order
  • Utilize matrices for problem analysis
  • Work to achieve general knowledge of operation/function of assemblies as required to troubleshoot units
  • Learn operational or departmental equipment, tooling or gauging as required
  • Identify process changes and methods improvements
  • Maintain current instrumentation calibration
  • Performs quality checks in accordance with established quality procedures and ISO requirements
  • Ensures production pace is maintained to meet customer demand
  • Learn and review daily production goals and metrics as a team
  • Will be cross trained to work at all assembly steps of line
  • Maintain cleanliness (5S) of work area daily
  • Participate in continuous improvement goals of the work site

Skills / Equipment:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Ability to use various power (Pneumatic) hand tools (i.e.; power screwdriver, socket etc.)
  • Ability to understand blueprints.
  • Computer literate

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 0 – 2 years’ experience in assembly or other fast paced operations preferred.

  • Implementing and sustaining the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Participating on quality and EH&S improvement teams and committees.
  • Providing input and implementing actions to support quality and EH&S objectives.
  • Providing input and implementing the accountability system.
  • Following and enforcing company rules and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements.
  • Conducting SWOT analysis to assist in the identification risks, hazards, environmental aspects and control of risks.
  • Ensuring that quality and EH&S are considered (following the Management of Change procedure) when making changes involving processes, equipment, materials, procedures, building layouts and personnel.
  • Attending required EH&S training and ensuring employees attend required training.
  • Ensuring on-the-job training to new and transferred employees is provided.
  • Communicating relevant information regarding quality and EH&S to employees.
  • Conducting EH&S management audits, identifying root causes of deficiencies and implementing preventive/corrective actions
  • Conducting incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing preventive/corrective actions
  • Performing periodic (at least annually) reviews of procedures, work instructions and Job Hazard and Environment Analysis (JHA)
  • Encouraging active participation of employees in quality, environmental and health and safety related issues.
