Salary Range: $ 15.00 - $16.00
Position Summary:
The Assemby-Pack Operator works in the woodshop performing various task to help team meet production, quality, and service delivery goals. This person will work through effective utilization of resources and is responsible for meeting or exceeding customer expectations through coordination, and value based leadership of manufacturing processes, organization and lean processes.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Works with the team completing work assignments congruent with operations schedules and communicated goals for shift
- Accurately picks material according to production label and replenishes as necessary, safely operating a forklift
- Safely use various hand tools such as chop saw, band saw, pneumatic nail gun, drills, and staple guns. Accurately calibrate calipers, go no-go gauges and torque gauges
- Assembles product according to work instructiosn and visual aids, inspect finished products prior to packing.
- Positions and secures completed pieces in correct packaging, building custom pallets according to dimensions of articles
- Facilitates a focus on continuous improvement through the application of lean manufacturing principles, 5S principles, and quality control practices
- Works with department to ensure all processes, equipment, safety, and housekeeping of the areas, meeting productions quality and quality standards on the shift
- Inspects product for defects and work closely with production operators and quality to identify root-causes and corrective actions to maintain quality standards
- Performs other related duties as directed by the Production Supervisor or Lead
Qualifications, Skills and Education
Required Qualification:
- Detail Oriented
- Teamwork and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably wood products
Working Conditions:
- Non-temperature controlled environment
- Work overtime as needed to complete daily production schedule
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing/walking
- Lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs
