Innovative Staff Solutions has a direct hire opportunity for an Assembly Production Manager for a client in Springfield, IL! This is a 2nd shift, Monday-Friday position managing a team of 4 supervisors at the manufacturing facility. As an Assembly Production Manager, you are responsible for organizing, coordinating, and supervising employees and activities to ensure an effective and efficient fabrication operation that meets safety, quality, and production standards.


Responsibilities

  • Organizes, coordinates, and supervises employees and activities to ensure an effective and efficient fabrication operation that meets safety, quality, and production standards
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, monitoring personnel and resources, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions and defects, initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources
  • Maintains compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Practices continuous improvement with an emphasis on Lean Manufacturing
  • Ability to work overtime, as requested
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2-year college degree in a business-related or industrial technology area required and 4-year degree preferable
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Suite of Tools
  • Ability to learn and understand software and complete transactions pertaining to welding operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise diverse work groups in a team environment using effective listening, coaching, training, investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and effective time management in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
  • Ability to understand and apply workplace safety procedures
  • Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment required
  • Ability to manipulate tools and assemble components involving fine and gross motor skills
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
