Assistant Controller - Waterloo, IA Job at Lincoln Savings Bank
Responsible for the administration of the bank’s general ledger function, regulatory reports, reconciliations, tax reporting, manage accounting staff and other operational responsibilities.
Manages the daily General Ledger book keeping function to assure accurate records for all bank assets, liabilities, income and expenses.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Prepare required periodic reports for regulators and any special reports requested by Management and/or Board of Directors.
Assist with internal &external audits.
Oversees accounts payable
Perform various accounting functions including, but not limited to:
Prepare monthly BOD and management reports
Preparation of Call Report
Reconciliation of internal DDA and general ledger accounts
Tax accruals and calculation of income taxes
Tax withholding submission and reporting
- Administration of Corporate Credit Cards
Represents Lincoln Savings Bank in a positive light in all professional duties. Including participating in civic, community, and networking events to cultivate productive relationships for Lincoln Savings Bank.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as defined by Management.
Necessary Skills and Attributes
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA certification required
3-4 years of experience in financial accounting activities required
Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulations
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management skills
Highly detailed oriented
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
