Job Summary

This position supports the Director of Quality, Compliance, and Privacy. The Assistant Director of Quality Assurance and Data Analytics works closely with the Director of the department to focus change efforts and improvement activities on data that can be gleaned from internal programs and external collaborative consortiums. This position shall utilize data and data analytics, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data integrity will be one of the primary focuses on this position.

Essential Functions

  • Supports the Director of Quality, Compliance, and Privacy, Managers and Directors in the data analysis functions of the Tribe's programs
  • Works closely with the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee membership to ensure that they have access to data necessary to effectively manage their programs by analyzing data, implementing change efforts, monitoring results and following the PDSA model
  • Ensures direct reports are meeting/exceeding job requirements and competencies.
  • Assists Tribe with data needed to investigate possibility of achieving additional accreditation(s)
  • Prepares reports for the Director of Quality, Compliance, and Privacy to be shared with leadership, management and the Council regarding trends, patterns, opportunities for improvement and pertinent quality-related activities
  • Facilitates the development and implementation of quality-related training for orientation and continuing education to increase Tribal knowledge of data analytics and its importance within the Tribe

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or related field, or a combination of education and experience may be substituted for a degree

Experience

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in health care data analytics
  • One (1) year supervisory experience

Preferred

  • Master's degree in law, health sciences, or related field
  • Working knowledge of Cerner Healthcare applications
  • Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities
  • Knowledge of Alaska Tribal Health Systems and communities

License/Certification

  • Must have a valid Alaska State Driver's License and remain insurable under the Tribe's policy

Special Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, or obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Conducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, respectful and kind when dealing with un'ina, visitors, co-workers and others
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Strong oral and written communication Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with medical information, as well as other confidential information and conform to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations
  • Ability to manage crisis situations
  • Must have strong understanding of healthcare data analytics
  • Strong confident, leader and motivator with a track record of being a self-starter who exercises sound judgment and impeccable integrity
  • Highly organized and focused on delivering results with experience in analysis and reporting
