Surestay Plus By Best Western, an 11 acre full service property in Black River Falls has an immediate full time opening for an Assistant General Manager.

Job Summary: Works with the Ownership in overseeing hotel operations, sales and ensuring guest satisfaction. Responsible for the operation of all aspects of the hotel in the absence of the Ownership. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends.

Job Duties:

1. Hires, trains and disciplines staff. Determines procedures and prepares work schedules for staff.

2. Together with the Sales Manager is responsible for actively prospecting hotel sales.

3. Must be financially conscious and capable of managing bottom line hotel costs

4. Empowers staff to successfully handle guest needs, special requests, and complaints.

5. Responds to guest comments on various travel sites. Receives, investigates, and resolved guest complaints. Participates in on-going facility inspections throughout the hotel to assure that cleanliness, safety, and other standards are consistently met. Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications: Two years of hotel management or supervisory experience, strong operations and sales experience is preferred. Candidate must be willing to roll up their sleeves and work with staff to lead by example. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Superior customer service and public relations skills. Excellent decision-making ability and analytical skills. Demonstrated Team Player who can function effectively as part of a management team. Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays is a must. Compensation negotiable depending upon experience. Benefits include paid time off and employee discounts.
