Spahn & Rose Lumber Co., the 2022 LBM Dealer of the Year, has an opening for the Assistant General Manager at our store in Marshalltown. This position is responsible for assisting the General Manager with the effective management and profitable operation of the Marshalltown store using process improvement techniques to continually drive improvements in sales, quality, delivery, cost and service.

Responsibilities:

• Understands the needs of the customers and positions the company to profitably meet mutual needs of customer and company. Provides excellent customer service to stakeholder groups by addressing issues, questions or concerns in a timely manner. Builds long lasting relationships with customers.
• Responds to and maintains positive employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation and morale. Prevents and resolves problems involving individuals when they arise.
• Motivates coaches and mentors employees to build effective teams.
• Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
• Responsible for maintaining safe working environments and ensuring compliance with local, state and federal safety regulations; coordinate closely with the safety team.
• Execute sales effort in an ethical and professional manner that will reflect favorably on the reputation of both the employee and the company.

Qualifications:

• This position requires excellent management, operational and relationship building skills coupled with a passion for excellent service.
• Previous building materials, construction, or sales experience is preferred.
• Excellent people skills and strong potential for strong leadership development.
• Able to learn quickly and work independently.
• Computer literate with Microsoft Office and email.
