Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Production Manager to organize and oversee the manufacturing of goods. You will be ultimately responsible for the smooth running of all production lines and the quality of output. We expect you to have deep know-how in production procedures, the ability to direct personnel towards maximum performance, and strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Liaise between the management and production to formulate production/order objectives, and build department's work-in-process report from pre-production through production
  • Monitor production using metrics to identify and resolve issues, while identifying gaps and areas of improvement in the production processes
  • Train incoming and tenured employees with proper production procedures
  • Ensure that retailer partners are provided with updated invoice/line sheets and feedback with any updates and changes that need to be made
  • Assist in preparing budgets for raw materials and other related expenses in the production department.
  • Help organize workflow to meet production specifications and deadlines, ensuring production output meets quality standards and driving the product through all stages of pre-production and production.
  • Observe the performance of production personnel (i.e., order fulfillment associates)
  • Identify the amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials, etc.) and make recommendations of resources for the production of new lines, existing lines, and additional relevant areas
  • Monitor equipment maintenance; Report equipment repair and replacement needs to upper management.
  • Assist Operations Manager to enforce health and safety measures within the production areas and ensure testing protocols are established and adhered
  • Assist in managing, planning, pre-production, costing and seasonal deadlines for the department
  • Work closely with Design, Product Development and Merchandising to achieve margin goals while maintaining the integrity of the product and meeting quality expectations
  • Manage cost sheet with cross-functional team from proto, SMS to Production stage
  • Aid in managing seasonal Time-In-Actions with suppliers to meet seasonal deadlines for development and procurement
  • Troubleshoot with key personnel on problematic styles before they become larger issues
  • Actively review Sales bookings against cancel dates and production in distribution center dates
  • Track top of production samples, ensure that they are received in a timely manner and meet expectations

Requirements:

  • High school or College undergraduate
  • Deep knowledge of production management
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication ability
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
  • Must have extensive experience with fabrics
  • Must have experience and knowledge with overseas factories and manufacturing
  • Proven experience working with factories directly
  • Must be a proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Possess strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload in order to meet all objectives
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications
