Assistant Professor of Acute Care/Critical Care Surgery Job at University of Minnesota Physicians

The Critical and Acute Care Division within the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota is seeking a qualified individual for an academic track (clinical) or tenure track position as Assistant Professor. Rank will be determined based on the qualifications and experiences of the selected candidate.
Caseload will include trauma, surgical critical care, and general surgery cases. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills in general surgery and critical care with responsibilities to include:

We staff an ELSO Platinum Center of Excellence Veno-venous ECMO program. -
We participate as the attending staff in several intensive care units in the Twin Cities and provide surgical support to a Level 1 trauma center.

We teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows.

We have a full spectrum of educational and professional development conferences.

For qualified individuals, up to 20% FTE for research efforts may be available.

Qualifications
- MD degree or equivalent
- Must have or be able to obtain board certification in Surgery and Critical Care
- Must have or be able to obtain a Medical License in the state of Minnesota
- Demonstrated commitment to providing quality and conscientious patient care
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and collegiality with staff and partners
- Demonstrated commitment to instructing and research.
