Job Details:
Mercer University’s College of Professional Advancement invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Psychology and Human Services Program Coordinator, a nine-month, non-tenure track, position beginning August 1, 2023. The position is housed in the Department of Human Services and Psychology and will be based either at the University’s Macon or Atlanta campus with teaching responsibilities possible at the Henry County, Atlanta, Douglas County, and Macon locations, and online.

Requirements for the position include demonstrated excellence in teaching, evidence of potential for maintaining a successful record of research and publication, and a commitment to service at the department, college, and university level. Responsibilities include: teaching 7 undergraduate courses (21 semester hours) per academic year including courses in research methodology, in face-to-face, blended, and online formats; maintaining an active research, publication, and presentation agenda; pro-active advising of human services and psychology majors; impactful service on department and college committees; and contributing to the college’s and the university’s mission. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in psychology from a regionally accredited university.
Candidates with experience in human services administration, social services practice, agency work, or applied psychology will be preferred. Further preference will be given to applicants who provide evidence of exemplary teaching and who have experience teaching and advising adult learners. Experience in or enthusiasm for teaching online is preferred.
