Summary
Warwick Day Care Center is looking for Assistants in our early childhood center. The Assistant Teacher supports the Teachers by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. Assistant teachers are responsible for helping to carry out developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment.

Assistant teachers are responsible for helping to carry out developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director. Duties
- Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
- Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
- Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
- HS Diploma required
- Early Childhood college credits or CDA a plus.
- 1+ years experience working with children under 5 years old.
- Must be available to work Monday-Friday
- Physically able to perform activities required by position (i.e. sitting on the floor to read or play with children at their level, carry/lift children in your arms that could weigh anywhere from 15 - 40 pounds, run & play with children outdoors, etc.)
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification (preferred but will train)
- Must clear full background check.
- Must pass health screening.
