OVERVIEW OF POSITION

The Assistant Vice President is responsible for the day-to-day direction of the properties in the assigned region of NYC-NJ Metro & surrounding areas of the assigned portfolio. Will manage a team of 3-5 Regional Managers. Will have full responsibility for all staffing, personnel, physical plans, and economic performance of the assigned properties, all in accordance with Conifer standards and the approved business plans for the properties in the assigned regions.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES’ EXPERIENCE will include:

  • Minimum 8-10+ years of successful multi-site management experience required, in affordable housing portfolios of 750-1200+ units.
  • Minimum 3 years' recent/prior experience in a Regional/District Manager role needed.
  • Compliance experience (LIHTC, RD, HUD-Sec. 8, Sec. 236, Fair Housing) required.
  • Prior 2+ years’ supervision experience including training, coaching, mentoring, and performance management experience needed.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills with residents, vendors, agencies, others.
  • Strong organizational skills with effective decision-making abilities.
  • Strong experience with budgeting, financial/accounting practices including NOI and understanding of financial statements.
  • Yardi Voyager experience or other housing software programs required.
  • Strong MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to properly document important site matters and keep accurate records.
  • Ability to read and fully comprehend legal documents including leasing and compliance agreements, contracts, and other regulatory documents.
  • Flexibility for weekly travel to assigned properties within region(s) as assigned, along with attending regional meetings, training, conferences, other property management events/activities.
  • Reliable transportation with valid drivers' license and auto insurance policy required for weekly travel.

EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or some college with minimum 5 years’ related property management experience
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.

Certifications Preferred or willing to obtain:

  • COS (Certified Occupancy Specialist)
  • LIHTC (Low Income Housing Tax Credit)
  • Other certifications pertinent to affordable housing industry
