Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency that develops housing and employment supports for people with disabilities in 11 states.

We are seeking an Associate Director of Grants in Corpus Christi, TX. Reporting to the Director of Grants, the Associate Director will build and manage a diverse grant portfolio and establish new funding streams for the development of housing and employment programming. Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and write proposals for public and private grant opportunities
  • Leverage existing relationships and connections to funders to support organizational growth.
  • Maintain and build a portfolio of grants through regular stewardship of funders, creation of a reporting and renewal schedule, and development and submission of required reports and proposals.
  • Collaborate with fiscal staff and Executive Directors/ Residential Managers and other relevant internal stakeholders to understand agency-wide and local funding needs/ goals for growth and expansion; appropriately match needs with new and renewal funding opportunities.
  • Research foundation and government prospects; maintain organized and thorough records of research.
  • Determine best fit prospects for further qualification and solicitation
  • Email/ call prospects to qualify or cultivate
  • Coordinate personal relationship-building strategies with current, lapsed and prospective funding sources.
  • Provide timely acknowledgement letters and tax receipts for foundation and corporate grant funders.
  • Represent Community Options at events and functions.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in writing intensive field (English, Political Science, History) required
  • 5-7 years of grant writing/management experience in the Healthcare or Non-Profit space with proven record of establishing and maintaining funding relationships at the six and seven-figure level
  • Experience with private, state, and federal grant research and proposal writing
  • Strong project management skills, ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, strong collaboration skills, and ability to be assertive and follow-up both internally
  • Strong written communication skills with ability to effectively present facts and recommendations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
