POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Director, Portfolio Manager plays a crucial and strategic role at Nucleus and is central to implementing our growth strategy. The Associate Director reports to the Chief Investment Officer.

The Associate Director will be a collaborative leader and teammate and will support Nucleus as we develop new and enhance portfolio implementation and investment research capabilities, to ensure Nucleus remains on the path to preeminence in the wealth advisory industry.

Compensation for this position is $180,000 - $200,000 per year plus a discretionary bonus based on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do
  • Embrace learning, lean into openness and teamwork, and develop as a leader.
  • Collaborate with Advisors to understand client goals and create and codify corresponding portfolio investment guidelines.
  • Develop and enhance the portfolio monitoring process, to ensure client portfolios are managed with the stated long-term goals and short-term liquidity or other considerations.
  • Perform investment manager research and analysis, with a focus on investment due diligence. Document investment manager meetings and present recommendations to the CIO.
  • Implement asset allocation changes and rebalance portfolios to bring them in line with the target allocation.
  • Perform an important role on the investment team in monitoring current investment solutions using Morningstar Direct or comparable investment analysis software.
  • Create portfolio reallocation and tax-loss harvesting trading plans.
  • Analyze prospective client portfolios and work with the Branding & Communications team to prepare presentation materials on Nucleus' recommendations and action steps.
  • Assist clients and Advisors with ad-hoc economic or company-specific investment research and analysis requests.
  • Build and grow relationships directly with clients and their trusted advisors (CPAs, Attorneys).
  • Complete client-requested or bulk trades across several investment custodians.
  • Collaborate on oversight and maintenance of an internal private funds data base.
  • Help evaluate and integrate new processes and technology solutions to increase efficiency in Nucleus' investment research, analysis and reporting.
There will be opportunities to work with all members of the team to enhance knowledge of portfolio management and learn about trust and estate, insurance, tax, financial and philanthropic planning.

Education and Experience
  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • Series 7 and Series 66 registration required
  • Attainment or pursuit towards a CFA, CFP® or CAIA designation is strongly preferred.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required
  • Experience with Morningstar Direct and Black Diamond portfolio analysis and reporting software is preferred
