Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Project Development, the Associate Engineering Manager (AEM), this position works directly with NineDot Energy's Director of Project Development, Senior Technical Manager (STM), and all levels of management throughout the organization to assist the team on projects and ad hoc assignments. The AEM will be responsible for engineering and technical support to help transition beta tested concepts from the Product Development team into executable projects for the Project Development team; engineering and technical support for the site origination workflow of the Project Development team; preparing, managing, tracking, and reporting on all project interconnection applications and activities throughout the project development phase; supporting the Operations team in site due diligence; and overseeing the execution and implementation of interconnection agreements in the construction phase. The AEM will work directly with the Director of Project Development and the Senior Technical Manager to further develop policies and operational processes that will help develop an agile and scalable organization through its growth. The position will have opportunities to have ownership and accountability over projects with potential for career growth.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Provide technical and engineering support for all NineDot products and projects.
  • Manage efficient and timely submission of interconnection applications
  • Manage all interconnection applications, including preparation and submission of applications, results tracking and analysis, and regular reporting.
  • Provide support to the Operations team during construction on interconnection agreement execution and oversight as needed.
  • Coordinate with hardware vendors for technical requirements and engineering specifications for use in project design and interconnection applications.
  • Coordinate and work with third party resources for engineering and/or other project development needs.
  • Provide support to the STM and Director of Project Development.
  • Provide support to the Product Development team in exploring new product types and evaluating technical constraints of new opportunities.
  • Operate autonomously, and report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work or apprenticeship experience in business, engineering, or construction management.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of Project Management/Development/Construction experience.
  • Passion/history for clean energy projects is a plus.
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Keen ability to evaluate priorities and multi-task accordingly while keeping others apprised of status with respect to deadlines.
  • Ability to identify problems and discrepancies, independently perform research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Must be detail and results-oriented with an ability to work in a cross-functional, fast paced, and constantly evolving environment.
  • Team player to work in concert with all teams.
  • Familiar with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Asana is a plus.
  • Proven track record of working with urgency and timeliness to deliver projects.
  • Strong personal organization and time management skills.
