The Associate Media Director works closely with the Digital Media Director and extended team to deliver integrated media solutions for the Tier 2 Lexus local business or Lexus Dealer Association (LDA). The Associate Media Director has an entrepreneurial spirit as well as a strong business acumen and operational excellence. The AMD is a strong leader, does not settle for the expected and pushes ideas beyond obvious possibilities to help clients solve business problems. The Associate Media Director possesses a broad set of media skills with knowledge in digital, social and broadcast.

Role

The Associate Media Director is responsible for producing integrated media plans and deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all elements of planning, from media research to strategy to execution.
  • Cultivate solid client relationships and provide strategic direction that drives business impact.
  • Develop effective, innovative and digitally-led media strategies for existing clients and for new business pitches.
  • Effectively sell media plans and solutions through local market presentations with clients.
  • Provide strategic rigor to the implementation of the campaign idea/platform, ensuring integration of the work between creative and media.
  • Proactively analyze data to help identify areas of opportunities and future recommendations to drive business set goals/KPIs; digital performance, revenue and acquisitions/conversions.
  • Use data from marketing, sales and finance for optimization and improvements of channel mix, funnel velocity and sales conversions.
  • Evaluate proven and new partners for Integrated Programs on all assigned clients.
  • Provide point-of-view on various media marketplace topics.
  • Assist in elevating methods and practices to attribute campaign response.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Planning group to identify actionable consumer insights based on media attitudes and behaviors, macro and micro trends and cultural nuances and trends.
  • Identify campaign learnings that can be leveraged as insights for clients and across the agency.
  • Encourage, sell-in and lead the development of innovative, first to market digital ideas.
  • Challenge the team to discover and articulate insights with strong proof points and rationale.
  • Promote a target-centric approach (Black, LGBTQ, Hispanic and General Market) in all strategic thinking and recommendations.

Lexus Local Dealer Association:

  • Elevate the strategic approach of media recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for budget growth.
  • Act as the day-to-day liaison between Regional Account Directors (RAD) team and Media.
  • Ensure that all team requests are delivered in a timely basis.
  • Serve as presenter from an Integrated Media standpoint in quarterly meetings in multiple markets with Lexus Dealers and clients. Act as lead, back up and co-presenter where necessary.
  • Establish solid KPIs and work closely with team to analyze campaign performance.
  • Collaborate in plan development and oversee flowchart revisions as well as budget stewardship.
  • Ensuring excellent quality control standards.

Results:

  • Assess media performance against set objectives and strategies.
  • Develop and present solid incremental budget recommendations.
  • Produce campaign results reports highlighting learnings and recommendations.
  • Educate Executive Management team on client’s Media campaign results, where required.

Media Expertise:

  • Meet with executive contacts at key media partners and industry representatives on a regular basis to identify new ideas that are strategically aligned with the client’s business.
  • Keep abreast of trends (press, seminars, current events, etc.) that may impact client business.
  • Attend conferences or training sessions to help advance disciplinary knowledge and stay on top of new approaches or technology.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree with 5-10+ years in roles of increasing responsibility in departments of similar nature.
  • Strong leadership skills and general management orientation.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles of advertising, marketing and media.
  • Expertise in the dynamics of media with an emphasis on digital. How each media element performs alone, how they perform together and how they are constantly changing.
  • Strong understanding of the clients’ industries and environments within which they operate.
  • Fluency with marketing analytic dashboards such at Tableau, Google Data Studio, etc.
  • Confidence and competence in articulating objectives, opportunities and techniques.
  • Provide high-level strategic knowledge fused with the expertise of the media business.
  • Flexibility to use alternative analytical approaches to solve media problems.
  • Storyteller with dynamic presentation skills and the ability to develop relationship with clients.
  • Excellence in writing clearly and concisely as well as presenting in an articulate and confident manner to internal and client stakeholders.
  • Proven track record to effectively and comfortably communicate and interact with clients and negotiate on the client’s behalf.
  • Foster a strong, cohesive working (remote) team as well as train and inspire colleagues.
  • Multicultural marketing and Tier 2 automotive experience a plus.
  • 25%+ travel required.

REMOTE

The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $130,000.00. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; the associated discipline; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company(applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
