Associate Planner / Urban Designer
Halff Associates Inc., is seeking to immediately hire an Associate Planner / Urban Designer for their Richardson, Texas office. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of planners, landscape architects, and other support experts on a wide variety of planning efforts with public and private entities ranging from comprehensive plan preparation; park, recreation, and trails planning; active transportation planning; downtown and corridor planning; and urban design efforts.
The responsibilities of the Associate Planner / Urban Designer position will include support of senior staff projects, public engagement, plan development, report writing and document production, and assisting with the preparation of computer-generated maps and graphic elements needed to convey the ideas generated in each planning effort.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in community/urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture or a closely related field; advanced degree a plus;
- Three years of experience in a planning capacity;
- Well organized, detail oriented, and highly motivated;
- Strong writing skills;
- Demonstrated abilities in facilitating community stakeholder input and public meetings;
- Knowledge of computer programs (GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office programs) and the ability to produce attractive maps, graphics, and documents; and,
- Ability to travel periodically to client jurisdictions.

- Experience in the public and/or private sector.
