Swansboro Animal Hospital Emergency and Trauma Center is a company in Swansboro, NC 28584. We are located on the beautiful coast of NC. We have been open for 3 years and continuing to grow exponentially. VECCS certification is also in motion as well. We practice progressive, high quality medicine with owners dedicated to keeping up with advancing medicine.
We have all the toys: high resolution DR rads, ultrasound, endoscope, Ligasure, full in-house blood machines (including blood gas, blood typing, cortisol, bile acids, clotting times, etc) digital cytology, fecal/urine analyzers, oxygen kennels, extensive monitoring equipment, large surgery suite, central and PICC lines, full pharmacy-(whatever you want to stock to practice at your best, we support!). We currently have 7 licensed technicians on staff who are vital to our daily operation (and three in training), as well as numerous awesome assistants, kennel assistants, and receptionists. The dedicated staff work their butts off and truly care about saving pets. We do not pass up the opportunity to hire dedicated, skilled vet techs or assistants to continue our mission of saving lives.
If you have an interest in something, we will support you in furthering your education and experience. We want you to grow with us! If there's an opportunity for you to go to a wetlab to gain more experience, we will send you! Currently, we have a doctor extremely skilled in orthopedics if you are interested in learning, but if surgery isn't for you, that's okay with us too!
We have another doctor gaining even more experience in ultrasound and endoscope if that's your interest as well, or if you have something else you want to learn, we will support you in that! We believe a happy and appreciated team is the key to success. You can get used to regular catered lunches/dinners, bonuses, gift cards, etc as we feel it is very important to show our appreciation for our awesome team. We are also VERY aware that work/life balance is key to surviving vet med in general, let alone ER medicine.
Rotating schedules, a week off every 3 weeks, no runs of 4+ days in a row, etc is our rule. Of course, if you want to work more days, extra day pay is given. We have full support of surrounding clinics and community. Licensing, ce, accidental insurance, 401k, pet discounts, very competitive salaries, etc can all be expected.
We will tailor your benefits package to you and what is most important to your lifestyle! Full time or part time available. We will consider new grads for the right candidate. Both owners love to teach, and will give you ample time and support until you feel comfortable on your own.
We can be as hands on or off as you would prefer to learn. Surgery skills are a plus, but if you need help, we can teach you! Or, if you would rather not do surgery, that is okay as well, we have a position for you either way! Finally, the beach!
There's so much to do here if you love the outdoors. Kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, hiking, trail walking, shark tooth searching, historical sites, and even more! Wilmington and Raleigh are a short dive if you crave more city life adventures. Sign on bonus available!
