CCWD is seeking a skilled, motivated, and team-oriented Associate Water Resources Specialist in the Water Resources Department. This position will be located at 2411 Bisso Lane in Concord, CA. The primary function of the job is to engage in Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta science, perform technical analyses such as hydrodynamic and water quality modeling, and public policy evaluation and formulation related to CCWD water resource planning and operations.

What you will typically be responsible for:

  • Developing and using analytical tools, such as hydrodynamic, statistical and linear optimization models, to assess immediate and long-term water supply and water quality conditions, including climate change scenarios
  • Compiling, evaluating, and maintaining records of data related to flow and water quality to understand current conditions and historical trends
  • Reviewing environmental documents and other materials prepared by other entities to determine potential impacts to CCWD’s water supply, water quality, and finances
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence to communicate with other District departments as well as outside agencies and groups regarding technical and policy issues
  • Representing CCWD at technical meetings, workshops, and conferences regionally and state-wide
  • Contributing to the planning, design, permitting, and contract development for District projects, such as the Phase 2 Los Vaqueros Reservoir Expansion Project
