ATHLETIC POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Head Athletic Trainer

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
To promote and execute all efforts made by the Athletics office in accordance with the ideals and principles of Kents Hill School.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY OBJECTIVES
Sports Medicine
- Oversees Sports Medicine services to all student-athletes working in coordination with the Health Center
- Provides KHS game coverage at KHS events (W,F,Sat 2:30-6:30pm)
- Provides KHS practice coverage, when possible on non-game days (M,T,Th 2:30-5:00)
- Administers and oversees the care, prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries to all student-athletes
- Provides specific clinical care as assigned by the team physician
- Organizes and maintains all medical records in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Develops and maintains all Sports Medicine department guidelines, policy and procedure in accordance with national/international best practices and consensus statements
- Communicate with physicians, health center, and coaching staff regarding the injury status of athletes
- Oversees concussion management for KHS including all return to play and return to learn
- Makes appropriate physician’s referrals and appointments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Board Certified Athletic Trainer
- Maine state licensure or licensure eligible
- BLS/CPR/AED certification
- CHRC Approval
- Experience and familiarity with athletic training in the secondary school setting, preferred

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
