Back Office Analyst I

Location: Georgetown, DE or Salisbury, MD


This position requires knowledge of Billing and financial/accounting processes and a basic understanding of the respective Company/Billing Policies and Procedures, as they relate to Billing and other Administrative functions. This position is responsible for managing exceptions, processing all aspects of Customer billing and maintaining data integrity. Additionally, this position is expected to provide timely and accurate information to internal and external customers.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for exhibiting Chesapeake Utilities Corporation’s Mission, Vision and Values, regarding external customers, agencies, vendors, internal departments and co-workers.

  • Daily data entry as required
  • Execute daily billing process which includes service, delivery, meter, adjustments etc..., resolve discrepancies as needed
  • Complete daily billing reconciliations
  • Complete daily account maintenance
  • Complete account logs as needed
  • Process Customer refunds as needed
  • Assist in the resolution of issues related to balancing Accounts Receivable
  • Supports the goals and objectives of the respective business unit and the Company’s vision and mission
  • Supports and champions the Chesapeake Service Excellence Model
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by:
    • Manager/Supervisor–Back Office-Billing/Admin, and/or
    • Back Office Analyst III – Billing/Admin

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: This position works with all levels of the propane operations. The incumbent acts under the guidance of the Manager/Supervisor,–Back Office-Billing/Admin.

External: This position provides excellent service to internal customers and a high level of data integrity


QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Related Experience: At least one (1) year of Administrative experience


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Good understanding of basic accounting concepts with debits and credits
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, mathematical and problem solving skills
  • Must be flexible, detail oriented and have the ability to juggle several job functions simultaneously
  • Must be a team player with a willingness to assist with special assignments
  • Requires the ability to adapt to change and learn new technologies, equipment and software upgrades

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Proficient with computer based billing processes with in our operating systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite
