Baker/Decorator Position

We are looking to fill a baker-decorator position at our amazing dessert shop! Hands on commercial baking experience or pasty degree preferred. This is an exciting & high volume position in our production kitchen located in Bound Brook. In this role you will bake, prep, and decorate cupcakes, ice cream, ice cream cakes, specialty bars, macarons, gourmet cookies, decorated cookies, cocoa bombs, ice cream, brownies etc. Knowledge of macarons a plus but we will train you on our methods. Must be have sense of urgency.

Baker Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow existing recipes, measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients.
• Monitor oven temperatures, speed settings, mixing machines, and other baking equipment.
• Neatly execute decorating of cupcakes, macarons, brownies, etc.
• Ensure food surfaces and baking equipment meet all health and safety standards.
• Clean and maintain baking equipment, utensils, and tools.
• Prep cupcakes, fill and ice cakes, fill macarons, fill and prep ice cream cakes.
• 8 hour shifts, but we don't leave until the job is done. You may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings.
• Evaluate ingredients and food for quality.
• Order and receive supplies and materials.
• Create new recipes.

Baker Requirements and Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent.

Previous commercial/specialty baking experience and or professional schooling/certification preferred.

Day shift, 7 - 3:30, but occasionally may require a weekend day.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

Physical endurance to stand for most of shift.

Self-motivated and self-directed.

Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks.

Physically able to move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift; able to lift up to 50 pounds or more.

Knowledge of sanitation procedures, and state health and safety precautions and regulations.

90 day review period.

Pay to commensurate with experience/skill.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
