BANDING Operator-DAY or AFTERNOON SHIFT
Beta Steel is a full service logistics steel supply group with distributing, warehousing, and manufacturing capabilities. Beta Steel, located in Sterling Heights, MI, is seeking a BANDING OPERATOR to add to their team. We have an opening for this position on Days from 6am-2pm M-F with possible OT and a position on Afternoons from 2pm-10pm M-F with possible OT. Both positions pay $17/hr. Afternoon shift will receive a shift premium added to the hourly pay. This opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to apply their knowledge, learn new skills, and work as a team. Beta Steel is an Equal Opportunity and Second Chance employer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities/Essential Duties:
- Band coils for shipment by using hand tools to compact and add steel strapping to coils of steel.
- Use Scanner on tags for package instructions
- Tag coils with proper identification and fills out all required paperwork for the respective pickle line.
- Weigh and enter exact and tare weight into the computer to create tag.
- Generate and fixate final tag on coils for hilo driver
Qualifications/Experience/Skill & Abilities:
- Excellent attendance a must.
- Must be able to use a variety of Hand tools.
- Familiar with Scanner and data entry
- Legible penmanship
- Must have eye for quality
- Must have team attitude
- Must possess good housekeeping traits
Job Type: Full-time
