Barranca Cafe-Clerk Job at Pueblo of Pojoaque
JOB PURPOSE: Perform concession duties, including fast food preparation, utilizing par and prep sheets, waste control and customer service
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Produces finished food product; Utilizes food surplus and leftovers; Stocks ready-to-eat snacks
- Observes and tests cooked foods by tasting and smelling them; Checks freshness of foods by ensuring proper temperatures (38 degrees for cold foods, and 145 degrees for hot foods)
- Takes food orders, serves customers, receives payment, and gives change
- Maintains and balances bank for cash register
- Sweeps concession area floors, wipes down and sanitizes food preparation areas; Cleans refrigerator
- Performs other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Good verbal communication skills
- Good knowledge of fast food preparation and safety techniques
- Basic math and cash register skills
- Skill in handling money
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- No experience necessary; Willing to train
- Must have basic verbal and written English skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Concessions/snack bar setting; Shift work;Required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Standing/Walking, 100% up to 4 hours at a time
- Lifting up to 35 lbs.
- Exposure to heat and smoke from stoves
- Exposure to some cleaning chemicals
- Required to use and operate equipment and utensils such as grills, knives, and slicersMust follow safety precautions and requirements when operating or using equipment, utensils, and chemicals
