Nature and Scope of Position

The purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have an exceptional experience when dining at our restaurant. Bartenders are responsible for providing patrons with hospitable and efficient service. Bartenders are expected to at all times be attentive to our guest’s needs and making sure they feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

1. Arrives to work on time and ready for the shift

2. Stocks the bar with simple syrups, fruits, ice and the necessary dry goods to provide an efficient shift.

3. Staying updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items…etc

4. Assisting in drink selection, informing customers about food preparation details, communicating specific customer needs to the kitchen manager, helping to educate the wait staff on beer, wine and cocktails

5. Following proper recipes, not over pouring or giving away drinks

6. Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change

7. Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor

8. Maintaining a clean and efficient bar

9. Filling in for absent staff as needed

10. Assisting with special events as needed

11. Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting

12. Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently

13. Understands and can communicate products and services available at the restaurant

14. Completes daily sidework or prep efficiently

Minimum Qualifications

· High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

· Positive attitude

· At least 2 years experience in a similar capacity

· Excellent oral communication skills required

· Positive interpersonal skills

· Ability to multitask

· Physical requirements: standing, walking, reaching, lifting and bending for a long period of time
