Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Bartender - Nightlife is to provide unmatched guest service through the prompt and accurate delivery of beverage service to all guests and cocktail servers.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently take beverage and food orders, preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with department specifications.
  • Provides unmatched service to guests at all times. Proactively seeks guest service opportunities and uses guest’s name if known.
  • Addresses guests and Team Members in a warm, friendly, positive, upbeat and professional manner at all times.
  • Interacts with guests by taking and delivering high quality drink orders in a timely manner.
  • Handles cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently associated with all beverage sales and provides appropriate change to the guest.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the beverage preparation areas comply with Clark County Health Codes by keeping them clean and free of debris.
  • Works in an appropriate non-hazardous manner avoiding self-injury and unsafe work methods.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains assigned work area to ensure it is well stocked and pars are maintained.
  • Communicates with management, hosts & service staff to rectify any and all guest needs, comments or incident.
  • Consistently maintain a professional, well-groomed appearance, posture and hygiene in accordance with company standards. Fashion and style to stay current and in line with current fashion standards and trends as deemed by management.
  • Provides accurate directions and information for guest inquires and is knowledgeable about Las Vegas restaurants and entertainment as well as all aspects of The Venetian and The Palazzo; to include services, features, attractions, promotions and special events.
  • Attend all required training sessions.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Company Standards of Conduct

All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Health card, TAM card, Gaming registration, Non-gaming registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 1 year high volume experience as a bartender in a high energy, upbeat ultra- lounge.
  • Experience in a high end hotel casino or ultra-lunge environment preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all beverage functions including mixing of drinks and operation of all bar equipment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Alcohol Awareness training to include sale or service of alcohol.
  • Have current expertise in the cocktail industry and knowledge of bar trends.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, champagne and mixed cocktails.
  • Mixology and/or bottle service experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate superior guest service skills by presenting a friendly, relaxed and professional demeanor
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail while meeting business demands
  • Must be able to complete cash transactions accurately and efficiently, basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division a must
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
