The Beef Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for bringing creativity and effective strategies and campaigns to every aspect of the marketing platform including print, digital, trade show, and any other customer outreach experiences. Responsible for utilizing organizational and communication skills to oversee all marketing components of a growing program and perform marketing, graphic design, digital promotion, and other requests at a high level.

This individual will be responsible for an annual comprehensive marketing plan that assists customers and members on beef sire marketing requests and assists the supervisor of the beef program on all promotional and marketing efforts.

Specific duties and responsibilities of a Beef Marketing Coordinator include, but are not limited to,

  • Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission: To enhance the productivity and profitability of dairy and beef producers, Select Sires is committed to be the premier provider of highly fertile, superior genetics accompanied by effective reproductive- and herd-management products and services.
  • Manage and schedule print and digital advertising budget
  • Produce attractive print advertising
  • Coordinate production of the annual Beef Sire Directory, Fall Beef Update, and Beef Newsletters
  • Assist with National Sales Conference and National Beef Tour
  • Lead development and planning of all beef trade show activities
  • Coordinate bi-weekly Beef Banter and monthly Select Source with the assistance our Multimedia Specialist
  • Manage communications and correspondence with partnered marketing groups
  • Assist our Multimedia Specialist with Facebook, Twitter and other social media presence
  • Prepare professional bull slide decks for customer meetings and marketing
  • Receive and address customer and member cooperative phone and email requests for a variety of information related to the beef lineup
  • Organize and manage beef bull photo files and support pictures
  • Lead management of www.selectsiresbeef.com including but not limited to all NCE updates
  • Manage sire photo library including photo printing and emailing
  • Manage billing for Beef Department to SS members and customers including but not limited to promotional pieces and tours
  • Assist with pedigree and EPD/performance data management
  • Assist with videos (acquiring, editing and distribution for videos of bulls, progeny and promotion/public relations)
  • Support member coops and Worldwide Sires with promotional materials and marketing materials at their request
  • Provide other administrative support to the beef department on an as needed basis.

Requirements:

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Marketing/Communications or related field with preference given to candidates with a Beef Industry emphasis
  • 3 years work experience in the agriculture communications field preferred
  • Self-starter, capable of prioritizing a wide variety of tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft® Office Programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with desktop publishing software (primarily In Design, Photoshop)
  • Video editing capabilities a plus (either Adobe Premier Pro or Final Cut Pro)
  • Creative, out of the box thinking and strong graphic skills pertaining to promotional advertising
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to plan and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness for outstanding communication
  • Understanding of beef sire performance records, EPDs and pedigrees
