PBMHR is actively seeking a Behavioral Health Coordinator to oversee day programs for individuals with intellectual and development disabilities in Harrison, Hancock, and Stone Counties. The position will be located in Gulfport Mississippi. The Behavioral Health Coordinator position is vital to Pine Belt Mental Health's ability to ensure successful outcomes of the operations of these three counties. Strong upper management experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities required. Position is Monday - Fridays, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. This position may also have some weekend responsibilities, including supervision checks and filling in for residential staff when needed.

Our thirteen county service area includes Forrest, Hancock, Harrison, Jones, Lamar, Covington, Greene, Jeff Davis, Marion, Pearl River, Perry, Stone and Wayne Counties.

  • Master's degree in Behavioral Healthcare required
  • Professional clinical license preferred; must be eligible for DMH Therapist certification
  • Must possess a valid MS driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Must have auto insurance with liability limits of 100,000/300,000/50,000 within 30 days of hire
  • Reliable transportation required to provide services in the community
  • Behavioral healthcare internship preferred
  • Strong skills in program operations and management required
  • Excellent communication skills required

  • Consults on consumer events including, but not limited to, crisis, behavioral intervention needs, and all other aspects of consumer support.
  • Ensures the integrity and fidelity of services provided to best practices. Ensures targets are reached for existing and new service delivery.
  • Increases collaboration with support coordination and targeted case management.
  • Makes presentations to outside agencies as needed to increase public awareness of services.
  • Oversees the day program and residential supervisors in the assigned counties. Fills in for supervisors who are absent.
  • Provides budgetary responsibility for assigned counties. Ensures all appropriate services are delivered, billed, and documented properly.
  • Ensures services are faithful to program standards and best practices.
