Position: Benefits Manager

Job Description:

The Benefits Manager is responsible for the service delivery of the company’s Health and Welfare Program by leading and performing day-to-day benefit plan administration and projects associated with the company’s employee benefit programs. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely communication, administration, and reporting in accordance with plan designs and compliance requirements.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Ensure timely and accurate employee benefit enrollments and changes using the benefit administration system
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Oversees annual compliance reporting
  • Oversees and partners with vendors in the execution of benefit related services
  • Responsible for leading and developing the benefits administration team
  • Serves as the subject matter expert and provides benefit information and enrollment support for team members, advising on eligibility, costs and coverages
  • Partners with vendors to create employee benefits communication materials such as memos, flyers, and presentations and ensures timely delivery
  • Ensures benefit documents are updated and made available annually or as needed
  • Oversees monthly billing reconciliation with carriers and vendors
  • Partner with employees and carrier contacts to support benefits related issues and questions to facilitate resolution
  • Manages the annual open enrollment process
  • Provides guidance during claims or appeals
  • Maintains records related to benefits plans
  • Runs reports, performs benefit census audits and analytics
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of human resources and health and welfare benefits experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Proficient experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite-specifically Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Proficient experience administering benefits using an online system
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter
  • Provides leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to others
  • Performs well under minimal supervisor and is able to handle complex issues and problems
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills to correspond with candidates and employees at all organization levels
  • Ability to maintain highly sensitive and confidential information

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus

Pay: $110,000.00 per year
