Title: Early Intervention Specialist

Company Description(s): We are a multi-disciplinary therapy agency that provides Early Start (birth-3) services (Speech, OT, PT, Child Development) to our young clientele in a natural environment/home-based therapy model. Both Spanish and English clientele are provided services in both a consultative and direct therapy model on a weekly and bi-monthly basis and as authorized by our local Tri-Counties Regional Center.

Job Description:

  • Provide evaluations, reports, goals, direct therapy and consultation services to both Early Start and their families
  • Implement and collaborate with trans-disciplinary team services to children with a variety of developmental and diagnostic indicators (Autism, Down Syndrome, etc)
  • Attend and report at multi-disciplinary team meetings on a bi-annual and annual basis as requested and indicated by the Early Start program
  • Provide consultation services to parents/caregivers, teachers, and to community specialists and professionals regarding client progress and recommendations

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • EIS: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Child development, Early childhood, Psychology OR related field.- a) Current California Education Specialist Credential OR b)Added Authorization in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) granted by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC)
  • 1-2 years’ experience working with children and families preferred and have a core knowledge of infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities, Early Start eligibility requirements, the IFSP process in accordance with current federal and state laws/regulations, tools for evaluations, and the ability to develop functional outcomes for children and families
  • Ability to conduct developmental evaluations in all domains (ex. gross motor, fine motor, social-emotional, communication and adaptive skills) as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Strong report writing skills for multi-disciplinary reports
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to drive to all home-based therapy appointments in the assigned area
  • Demonstrate solid professional communication and the ability to work with a variety of therapists, specialists, families and community professionals (Regional Center, social workers, psychologists, physicians)
  • Spanish skills are an asset, but not required
