Job Title: Billing Specialist/Office Assistant
Enthusiastic, dynamic multitasker who thrives in an independent work setting. Insurance billing, resolving insurance payment denials as well as QuickBooks experience are a high priority. 75% of time will be spent on school district and insurance billing through QuickBooks and various insurance portals. Someone who is knowledgeable on insurance and the reimbursement process and has a basic understanding of ICD 10, CPT codes, and bookkeeping. The Billing Specialist/Office Assistant should have experience with GSuite, Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, and other relevant software.
The remainder will be aiding in the creation of materials for our field staff, filing, organizing, phones and scheduling. The ability to be a quick learner, and familiarity of Autism/ABA services is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Perform financial bookkeeping tasks related to general A/R and billing to both private insurance and Medicaid and to school districts
- Invoice weekly for services provided
- Maintain insurance records, file insurance claims, and resolve issues related to billing such as unpaid or rejected insurance claims
- Maintain customer records
- Assist in scheduling staff trainings
- Maintaining certification records
- Other general office duties
- Exercises good judgement and discretion
- Maintains and protects confidential information following HIPAA privacy requirements
- Respond effectively to confidential and time sensitive inquiries
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or beyond in business, accounting, finance, or related area preferred.
- Medical Billing certificate preferred.
- 1 year of AP/AR processing experience or applicable bookkeeping experience is required, with public school experience preferred.
- 1 year of insurance billing preferred, familiarity with payroll process also preferred.
- Knowledge of recordkeeping requirements, basic bookkeeping, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Familiarity with the field of Autism and ABA and human services background a plus.
