The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George's County, Parks and Recreation, Natural Historical Resources Division has an opening for a Nature Facility Park Rentals and Maintenance Worker at Bladensburg Waterfront Park.
This position pays at a rate of $15.00 per hour to $20.65 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
This is a year-round Seasonal Intermittent position that requires roughly 24-32 hours per week, primarily from April through October. This job requires at least one day of weekend work per week, occasional evening shifts, and holidays.
The Nature Facility Park Rentals and Maintenance Worker will:
- Prepare and provide rental equipment to customers including kayaks, canoes, personal flotation devices, paddles, bicycles, and more.
- Perform dock work, maintenance of rental boats and bikes, general park maintenance and custodial duties, trash and debris pickup, gardening and landscaping, and other related tasks.
- Additional duties will include work with the public, staff, and volunteers, and staffing special events including set-up/tear down of events and programs.
- Able to lift around 50 pounds and complete manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
- High quality customer service skills required.
- Basic maintenance skills desirable.
- Limited supervision and willingness to take initiative and follow through on tasks.
- Driver's license preferred, but not required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work will be primarily outdoors, in various weather conditions. Manual labor and lifting are required for this position. Work requires multitasking and occasionally busy situations.
This position does not provide benefits.
