Roadrunner Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is now open in Albuquerque, New Mexico as the newest emergency/specialty clinic in the state and the only ER with a vet on staff 24/7. We're excited to start adding specialists to our team and we're hiring 2-3 surgeons.

Our practice is locally owned by a single owner who works in our clinics on a daily basis and who has spent time as a practicing ER vet. The majority of our profit goes back into our clinic to get the equipment we need to practice top-notch medicine and for staff benefits so we continue to attract and retain the best vets, techs and customer service reps.

We want to be transparent about our salary and benefits upfront so you can see if this position is a good fit for you. Salary is $250,000 base with 25% production and no negative accrual. We offer a $30,000 signing bonus to welcome you to our team.

Full-time is considered to be 4 days per week. Our goal is to hire enough team-oriented surgeons that the caseload is reasonable and that days off are truly spent out of the hospital. We have a staff of hard-working, experienced ER vets who are capable of managing cases appropriately when you’re not in the hospital.

We pay 100% of the health insurance premium for all full time employees and also offer a dental and vision plan that employees can participate in for a nominal monthly amount. We offer 16 days of paid time off (base salary plus average production over the previous quarter is paid during vacation days). All clinic staff, not just vets, receive paid CE opportunities. Internists receive up to $4000/year for continuing ed and 4 additional days of paid time off for CE. We have a matching 401K retirement plan. We offer 6 weeks of paid maternity/parental leave after one year of employment. Education is the key to personal and professional advancement and we offer an annual tuition stipend for staff pursuing educational opportunities that are applicable to the field of veterinary medicine. Additional benefits include payment of professional dues and licenses and a generous discount for medical care and boarding of personal pets. Group fitness/strength classes are an additional fun perk.
