We are seeking a full-time Bookkeeper to work in our Mineola, NY tax. The base salary range for this position is $35,000 - $65,000 per year.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Monthly write-up and entry, including bank reconciliation through the production of financial statements
  • Preparation of monthly and annual sales tax returns
  • Preparation of quarterly payroll tax returns including multiple state unemployment tax returns and monthly 941 tax payments for clients
  • Annual write-up of corporate clients through the preparation of the corporate tax return
  • Other duties as assigned by the Tax Branch Manager

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Two years of work experience providing payroll and bookkeeping services
  • One year experience working with Accounting CS, Ultra Tax CS and Fixed Assets CS
  • Experience working directly with clients and ability to clearly explain accounting and tax matters
  • Knowledge of sales and payroll tax laws, payroll practices and applicable regulations
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and make rules-based, analytical decisions
  • Highly organized and proactive thinker able to meet deadlines inherent in the tax and accounting profession
