Description
The School District of West Salem is right next door to La Crosse in the beautiful Coulee Region of Western Wisconsin. Our 3 buildings are within walking distance of each other on an approximate 100-acre campus on the edge of town. Students in grades 4-12 are issued MacBooks or iPads as part of its 1:1 digital learning environment. Our transportation facility is located about a mile away from the campus.
The facility includes: 3 garage bays, 1 vehicle bay, 1 wash bay, updated lighting, a secure facility with cameras, and canopies for the buses to park under.
The District is seeking quality individuals who would like the opportunity to become part of our transportation team as a bus driver. Applicants must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work well with children of all ages, and have a clean driving record.
$22.57 per hour.
Approximate hours:
Regular Route - 6:00-8:00 a.m. and 2:30-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday on student days
4K Route - 10:30-12:15 & 2:30-4:15 - Monday-Thursday student days
There are additional opportunities to take trips as needed for student field trips and co-curricular trips. If you don't have a CDL to drive a school bus, we will train you.
Qualifications
Bus drivers must have a valid driver's license, a CDL Class B with passenger and school bus endorsement, and a clean driving record. Responsibilities include transporting students between authorized stops, maintaining order with students in a courteous and professional manner. Maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness. Other duties as assigned.
