Job Types: Part Time

Start Date: April 14th

Hours: 7 hour shift, Every second and fourth Thursday of the month from 11:30AM-6:30PM.

Rate: $25 an hr

Qualifications:

Knowledge of: Florida Traffic Laws; Pinellas County streets and highways (preferable) defensive driving skills.

License: Florida Driver License required by start date, and you must possess one of the following:

1. Class "B" Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement and air brakes, or;

2. Class "B" CDL permit with passenger and air brake endorsements (available at DMV offices by completion of a written test)

Abilities: Report to work on time in order to adhere to assigned routes and time schedules; comply with attendance and tardiness work rules; communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; interact courteously and effectively with the public;

Job Description

We are looking for a bus driver to safely operate our mobile grocery store that is a PSTA bus transformed into a grocery store on wheels to provide food for those in need in Pinellas County.

Principle Roles & Responsibilities:

• Safely drive the bus to 5 specific bus route locations. Remain at each stop for up to one hour to ensure guests can get groceries.
• Help ensure a safe environment when transporting volunteers that will be on the route with you to help guests with food.
• Greet people as they enter the bus. Many clients entering the bus will have many burdens of low-income situations, homelessness, or at-risk of becoming homeless. It is important you provide a friendly environment.
• Adhere to the bus route schedule.
• Conduct visual inspections to ensure the safety of transporting the food and volunteers on the route.
• Operate the ramp for guests who are disabled/utilize a wheelchair
• Communicate any feedback from guests to Director of Community Outreach
• Build relationship and rapport with guests who enter the bus
