Position Summary:

Directs, is responsible for and controls all financial aspects of the assigned business and operational units in Airbus Helicopters North America. Finance business partner to the operational and business owners providing financial expertise, advice and support to facilitate the achievement of financial and operational targets. Effectively engaged in the preparation of industrial, financial and headcount planning for the business areas.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Control the overall financial aspects of the business in coordination with the managers of the specific business line: 40%

  • Prepare regular financial reports and critical metrics on the performance of the business
  • Prepare all the vital data required to explain the monthly financial performance of the business and track status of work in progress
  • Complete, analyze and publish key business and financial indicators relevant to the specific business and operational area.
  • Translate planned and actual financial information into usable and relevant operational information to drive implementable actions.
  • Provide and communicate the relevant financial data to the business leaders in order to support and facilitate business decision making

2. Preparation of the Operating Plan, Forecasts, OPEX, CAPEX, Workload Capacity: 40%

  • Prepare the annual operating plan and periodic forecasts for the business areas in a detailed manner in coordination with the business line management and the Finance team.
  • Work alongside the business in the preparation of the OPEX budget once a year, utilising and formulating workload capacity panning, hourly rate calculations and headcount sizing.
  • In conjunction with the business support the planning process to size workload and associated workforce requirements in line with the OP timeframe in addition to updating in line with the official forecast updates.
  • Prepare and keep tabs on CAPEX financial project plans as required.
  • Track unit cost and profitability performance versus plan and deliver output to business partners highlighting deviations and areas for action.
  • Ensure proper coordination and alignment of the main financial targets and assumptions with the headquarters in Marignane (France)

3. Identify, manage and maintain the Risk and Opportunities of the business including mitigation plans: 10%

  • Identify, track, anticipate, quantify and compile the main risks and opportunities
  • Communicate internally the risks and opportunities in order to allow the business and the financial organization to be better prepared to put in place the necessary measures to mitigate those risks and benefit from the business opportunities
  • Work with the R&O manager to ensure the central tracking tool (ARM) is accurate and up to date

4. Financial Governance adherence: 10%

  • Ensure the proper financial accounting treatment of all aspects of financial activities and transactions through the application of internal and external financial processes and procedures.
  • Through the adherence to the financial system framework and conventions deliver robust and compliant financial information.
  • Assist in the development, improvement and implementation of new business processes and procedures.
  • Control the business assets in order to make sure that the accounting standards are respected and the utilization and value of the company's assets is enhanced.
  • Support the audits by preparing and providing the vital information to the auditors proving that the processes, procedures and accounting principles are followed

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, project management or business administration. Equivalent experience or combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree

Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum six (6) years in a finance position

or

  • 6 years of professional level work experience in an aviation company at least two (2) years of which must have been in a managerial position with budget, planning, cash management and/or Profit/Loss related tasks.

Preferred:

  • Experience with costing, pricing, business case creation, operational planning, budgeting, cash forecasting, business and financial risk analyses and/or business controlling tasks
  • Knowledge of the common Airbus financial tools
  • Knowledge of the Airbus Helicopter's business

  • Responsible to provide the financial data upon which key business recommendations will be made with a major impact on the company's growth and profitability.
  • Required to effectively communicate financial and business information as well as providing recommendations related to the business needs (in coordination with the AHI management) to colleagues from other business centers and with Airbus Helicopters Management in Europe.
  • Required to prepare and share strategic financial data related to business performance and planning upon which key decisions impacting the future of the business will be made
  • Participate in financial goal setting for the company. This requires collecting input from the various operations of the company and translating the input in a cohesive projection of the company's expected performance.
