About the Role: Business Development Executive – VMWare Technology Solutions

We are a leading VMware Professional Services Partner working across SLED (State Government, Local Government & Educational entities), Federal, Commercial and PMO groups at VMWare across the US and Canada.

We are looking for a Business Development Executive to join our current team, focusing on supporting our partnership with VMware. This person is responsible for developing new sales within a portfolio of accounts across the US, fostering key business relationships with new and existing clients on VMware technology.

You’ll collaborate with our sales and technical delivery teams across the US and Canada to strengthen our growing practices and help sell VMWare solutions to customers directly across the US. You will also work closely with key VMware stakeholders in your “go to market efforts”

The successful incumbent will be comfortable cold calling, cold emailing, engaging via social media and video, and have a basic understanding of B2B lead generation and business development. This is a quota-carrying role for career-minded individuals that offers a strong introduction and foundation for career growth and progression with a global software organization.

To help you exceed your sales targets, we’ll help you build client-specific strategies and solutions, increasing sales volume while meeting expectations for profitability, client success, and satisfaction. You will spend most of your time meeting clients and making sales at the client both on-site and online.

This is a full-time position, and you will work closely with our highly collaborative team, including close contact with the top sales leaders, as well as other leaders in the company. What You Will Do:

  • Partner with clients to define strategic objectives and technology needs, generating sales opportunities for solutions and/or services
  • Collaborate with technology teams to support building of proposals
  • Regularly conduct sales meetings with client contacts, creating strong and effective relationships
  • Negotiate new client contracts, renewals, extensions, and amendments
  • Develop client-specific strategies aimed at achieving revenue, gross profit, and other financial targets
  • Produce, analyze, and communicate sales forecasts and other related reports to key stakeholders
  • Build and maintain subject matter expertise on industry trends, market activities, and competitor strategies. Collaborate to implement solution and service improvements
  • Establish and maintain a network of industry contacts through participation in professional/trade associations and other professional networking organizations

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • 10+ years of relevant sales experience required
  • Previous experience selling cloud-based technology services
  • A good understanding of VMware technologies and sales experience on the same
  • Achievement of quarterly targets
  • Knowledge of CRM solutions and/or related tools, sales trends, best practices, and methodologies
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships
  • Quickly adapts to changes in the business environment
  • Strong focus on client needs with a commitment to quality and customer service
  • Identifies and resolves problems by recommending and implementing creative solutions
  • Prioritizes, organizes, and performs multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrates business acumen and market insight
  • Ability to work unsupervised and within a team environment
  • Willing to travel for client engagements
