Salary: $50,000-$70,000
OTE: $22,000 - $28,000 (Subject to meeting targets)
We're looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team in New York as part of our Sales function.
Your Role: You will be responsible for generating revenue from an assigned territory, primarily selling the LIONS subscriptions products, The Work and LIONS Membership, to agencies, brands, media owners and academic institutions in North & South America.
Your team: You will be the US sales person for the LIONS Intelligence team, the rest of whom are based in the UK - but you won’t be alone. LIONS has other US based sales staff, working on slightly different products, working hybrid from home and our NYC office close to Bryant Park.
Also working in NY are sales teams for our sister brands, WARC and WGSN, so although you’ll be the first person US based in the LIONS Intelligence team, you will have colleagues around you to support and get to know.
It’s an opportunity to join an established sales team, but as their first US based member of staff to really make your mark in building the commercial revenues
There will be opportunities to travel to our London office and to Cannes for the International Festival of Creativity.
Key Responsibilities
  • Meet and exceed monthly and annual revenue targets
  • Build a robust pipeline based on a targeted pursuit strategy with contact mapping and a clear plan and engagement strategy for each target
  • Maintain and update a sales pipeline and monthly/annual revenue forecasts
  • Establish and conduct the necessary industry, institution and client research
  • Implement a structured and consultative approach to prospecting, and qualify potential clients
  • Present the LIONS product and services with a high degree of professionalism to prospective clients
  • Ensure a high degree of attention to detail in all aspects of sales administration
  • Proactively identify opportunities to exploit developments or changes in the marketplace
  • Work with sales management to develop and write strategic sales plans, and execute stated goals and objectives
  • You are an advocate and ally for diversity, equity and inclusion
Your Experience
  • Strong track record of achieving sales targets
  • Ability to identify, strategize and build new business opportunities
  • Persuasiveness, executive presence and outstanding communication and presentation skills, verbal and written
  • Solid organisational skills and ability to work independently
  • Genuine interest in and enthusiasm for LIONS’ content areas (marketing and advertising best practices)
  • Be a committed and effective team player
  • Experience of Salesforce preferable
