Air Products, a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and a world leader in the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) industry, has an immediate opening for a Business Improvement Lead at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The Business Improvement Lead will play a meaningful role in ensuring Air Products continues to grow and strengthen our capabilities in this exciting industry.

Summary

The Air Products LNG organization is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Business Improvement Lead with a continuous process improvement attitude and a unique blend of business acumen, technical, analytical and communication skills. This person drives business, organizational and work process improvements by leading cross functional teams while collaborating with commercial, CI and technical leads within the LNG organization.
Reporting to the Manager of Business Development – LNG, this person will work to ensure successful completion of improvement projects resulting in increased organizational productivity and resourcing utilization to support long term growth and financial objectives. The primary responsibilities include execution of strategic improvement projects, implementation and management of productivity tools and processes, management of enterprise solutions and result oriented organizational initiatives.
This position provides opportunities for rapid learning, leading change, and influencing customers at every level of the organization. The Business Improvement Lead will act as a change management agent and a resource for the application of advanced productivity tools and disciplines. Associated with the position is the potential for growth into new areas of the business commensurate with the candidate’s skills and development.
The incumbent will capture and analyze organizational and market data, customer requirements and strategic planning activities to establish and implement business improvement programs.

Principal Accountabilities

This position is accountable for the following end results:
  • Plan, perform and implement sophisticated business improvement initiatives for new and existing processes including facilitating idea generation and leading collaborative efforts
  • Develop insightful actions, suggest recommendations, and influence the direction of the business by optimally working with and communicating results to multi-functional groups
  • Lead and become a power user for enterprise applications used in the LNG Organization including training to improve productivity
  • Collect internal / external data to identify and develop strategic improvement opportunities in support of business needs
  • Develop project plans and manage scope and deliverables against deadlines and report out on project team progress by utilizing forward planning and close monitoring
  • Develop and continuously measure metrics that provide data for process improvement and identify indicators for future improvement opportunities
  • Ensure new processes are documented with clearly defined accountability for process owners and associated change management defined for full implementation
  • Work with the LNG CI Lead to input and track information residing in the Orchestra and SAP as related to project benefit reporting. This requires tracking and validating the information in various databases
  • Coordinate process improvement and planning work with LNG and CI leads to ensure consistent process convergence and best practice sharing where appropriate.
  • Management of enterprise applications used in the LNG Organization
  • Role model for Code of Conduct compliance and Safety Principles

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Experience with SAP and Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt beneficial)
  • Strong Interpersonal skills with strong influential leadership.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with ability to set clear and measurable goals
  • Strong prioritization and resource leadership skills
  • Ability to clearly define and communicate vision
  • Ability to lead implementation and ensure sustainability
  • 5 plus year productivity or project management experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of data processing, data visualization and analysis
