Position Description
Responsible for the procurement of goods and services in the most cost-effective manner. Assists with product selection, expediting, invoice processing and product research. Ensures contract pricing is being utilized where applicable and supports the department with contract compliance and system updates. Also assists leadership with vendor performance. Seeks opportunities to utilize our GPO contracts, seeks alternative suppliers and is proficient ensuring emergency order needs are met for optimal patient care. This is a critical front-line position.
Position Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and 2 years or more of experience in Purchasing related field. Experience working with databases and various operating systems. Good communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to multitask. Excellent organizational skills. Good computer skills working with Word and Excel.
Preferred Requirements
Bachelor's degree. 3 years or more of experience in purchasing in healthcare environment. Good communication, computer and analytical skills. Expereince with material management information systems. Ability to multitask. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent computer skills working with Word and Excel. Good math skills.
