Position Summary

Shimadzu USA Manufacturing is currently seeking an exceptional and results-oriented Buyer. In this role, you will be responsible for the cost-effective and timely procurement of production materials, supplies and services directly supporting our operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building strong partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Typical Schedule

Monday- Friday 7:30 AM- 4:00 PM

Essential Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains strong business partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Purchase place order for direct materials. Maintain and verify the data in the ERP system
• Translates ERP system generated requirements and places timely purchase orders to suppliers to meet production demand.
• Maintain materials parameter setting in the ERP system
• Ensures suppliers have component and/or service specifications, drawings and technical requirements.
• Expedite and Track open Purchase Orders
• Assists in tracking and arranging the return and receipt of non-conforming materials.
• Maintains accountability for on time delivery, quality performance and reliable material flow.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelors' Degree in Purchasing, Business Management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and purchasing experience
• Minimum 1 year of procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of purchasing principals, policies and processes
• High software competency – Integrated ERP/MRP and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
